Apparently, a family-friendly atmosphere and Avril Lavigne are not a match.
The Tampa Bay Rays apologized to fans over the weekend after the singer, who was invited to perform at the team's summer concert series, went on an expletive-filled tirade over a bum microphone.
So what did she say exactly?
Lavigne took the stage at Tropicana Field following the Ray's 7-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians and when she faced a serious microphone glitch at the very beginning of her set, she was met with boos from the crowd.
She then went on a profanity-strewn rant to the crowd of 25,000, saying the sound problem "f--king happens on a baseball field."
The 26-year-old "Complicated" singer had apologized that night (check out the video above), changing her tune to chipper and thanking the team for inviting her to perform.
"We just had so much fun tonight and we want to take the tirade out and say thank you to the Tampa Bay Rays!" she told the crowd. "I'm truly sorry if anyone was offended by my language."
A team spokesperson later apologized for Lavigne's behavior.
"The Rays demand profanity-free performances from all of our concert performers, and we are extremely disappointed by the language used in last night's show," he said in a statement. "It is not consistent with the atmosphere that Tropicana Field is known for."
Lavigne, who also threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the game, got it together after the malfunction and performed the rest of her set curse-free.
