{allcanada} ZADOR AND STAJCER COMBINE TO BLANK KNIGHTS; LEAD SERIES 3-2

Goaltenders Michael Zador and Scott Stajcer combined for 14 saves as the Owen Sound Attack crushed the London Knights 6-0 on Saturday to take a 3-2 lead in their Ontario Hockey League playoff series.

Zador started in net and made 13 saves in 51:26 of work. Stajcer played for just 8:34 and made one stop in that time.

Robby Mignardi led Owen Sound with a pair of goals. Mignardi's first goal of the evening was the only time the Attack scored on three power plays.

London's goaltenders also split time in net. Starter Michael Houser stopped 24-of-28 shots but was chased by Heelis' goal at the 13:44 mark of the second period. Igor Bobkov replaced him, turning aside 14 of 16.

Game 6 is in London, Ont., on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Kitchener 2 Plymouth 0 and Saginaw 5 Guelph 4.

At Owen Sound, Ont., Gemel Smith, Andrew Shaw and captain Garrett Wilson rounded out the Attack's offence.

The Knights couldn't capitalize on their four man advantages.

Rangers 2 Whalers 0

At Plymouth, Mich., goalie Mike Morrison turned aside all 40 shots he faced as Kitchener blanked the Whalers to force a deciding Game 7 in their playoff series.

Ryan Murphy's goal three seconds into a power play early in the second period was all the Rangers needed in terms of scoring and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jerry D'Amigo iced the game with an empty-net goal.

Scott Wedgewood made 35 saves for the Whalers, who are now in danger of blowing a 3-1 lead in the series after also losing to the Rangers on Friday night in Kitchener, Ont.

Game 7 is Monday night in Kitchener.

Spirit 5 Storm 4

At Saginaw, Mich., Jordan Szwarz scored twice and added an assist as the Spirit edged Guelph.

Vincent Trocheck scored the winning goal for Saginaw with just over eight minutes left in the third period. John McFarland had a goal and two assists for the Spirit, while Josh Shalla also scored and added a helper.

Francis Menard, Peter Holland, Daniel Erlich and Scott Kosmachuk replied for Guelph.

Saginaw leads their first round series 3-2 with Game 6 going Sunday in Guelph.
