{allcanada} ROUGHRIDERS SIGN IMPORT DE ROMERO

Regina, SK (Sports Network) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed defensive lineman Dario Romero to an undisclosed contract.

Romero spent the last three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, starting 15 games last year. He recorded 24 tackles and one sack.

"We are very excited about the strength and talent that Dario will provide to our defensive line," said Roughriders general manager Brendan Taman. "Dario has been a proven commodity in this league and we look forward to seeing him in Green and White."

Romero started his CFL career in 2001 with the Eskimos before jumping to the NFL. He was with the Miami Dolphins from 2002-05 before going back to the CFL with Montreal.

In 86 career regular season CFL games, Romero has totaled 143 tackles and four sacks.
