Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer has accepted an invitation to play for Canada at IIHF World Hockey Championship.
Reimer said it was an opportunity he couldn't turn down.
The Leafs rookie was stellar during a second-half to the season in Toronto that almost saw the club make the playoffs. Reimer was 20-10-5 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .921 save percentage.
The tournament takes place in Slovakia starting on April 29.
