Sierra Club Select-A-Ticket

After eight season's in the Canadian Football League, Edmonton Eskimos linebacker Javier Glatt is calling it a career.

"I am extremely thankful to the Edmonton Eskimos and their loyal fans for allowing me the opportunity to continue living my dream of playing professional football," said Glatt.  "I have had a blast over the course of my entire eight year CFL career and feel very fortunate to have met so many amazing people along the way and enjoy so many incredible experiences on the football field. I am so grateful to everyone who helped me realize my dream of being a pro football player."

Glatt spent the first seven years of his career with the BC Lions before joining the Eskimos as a free agent ahead of the 2010 season. He recorded 27 defensive tackles, two interceptions, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble last season. The Calgary native also has five special teams tackles, three kickoff returns for 17 yards and one punt return for 10 yards.

Drafted by the Lions in the second round (15th overall) in the 2003 CFL Canadian Draft, Glatt spent his first three seasons as a back-up before earning a starting position at middle linebacker in 2006.  That same year, the Lions went all the way to the Grey Cup where Glatt had eight defensive tackles as the Lions defeated the Montreal Alouettes 25-14.

Glatt enjoyed the best season of his career in 2008 when he finished the season with 88 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, six tackles for losses, two pass knock downs, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two quarterback sacks.

He was named a West Division All-Star at the conclusion of the '08 campaign.
