Ottawa Senators forward Peter Regin underwent shoulder surgery last week and his recovery time is expected to be 4-6 months.
The Senators made the announcement on Monday.
Regin suffered a dislocated shoulder on Feb. 19 after he fell awkwardly into the boards in the third period of a game at the Air Canada Centre.
The club is hoping that Regin will be available for training camp in September.
