The Toronto Blue Jays have no shortage of candidates for the final two spots in their starting rotation yet it appears they may be looking for one more.
Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that on Tuesday the Blue Jays "had three scouts watching" Minnesota Twins starter Kevin Slowey.
Christensen added the Blue Jays "like Slowey and have relievers to spare," given the Twins need for bullpen depth after losing Matt Guerrier, Jesse Crain, Brian Fuentes, Jon Rauch and Ron Mahay to free agency this winter.
The 26-year-old Slowey will earn $2.7 million in 2011 and is under team control through 2013.
The Jays have no shortage of bullpen depth with five of the seven jobs likely already assigned to Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, Octavio Dotel, Jason Frasor and Shawn Camp.
That leaves the following candidates to battle it out for the remaining two spots: David Purcey, Casey Janssen, Carlos Villanueva, Wil Ledezma, Rommie Lewis, Sean Henn, Mike Hinckley, Josh Roenicke and Jesse Carlson.
