{allcanada} QMJHL: ROCKET DEFEAT MAINEIACS IN SHOOTOUT

Samuel Morneau and Felipe Corbo scored in the shootout Friday as the P.E.I. Rocket defeated the Lewiston Maineiacs 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Andrej Nestrasil, Ben Duffy and Olivier Croteau scored for P.E.I. (29-24-8) in regulation, while Samuel Morneau picked up two assists. Evan Mosher stopped 39 shots to get the win.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Acadie-Bathurst 8 Cape Breton 1; Saint John 5 Moncton 4 (OT); Baie-Comeau 4 Victoriaville 2; Rimouski 6 Chicoutimi 2; Gatineau 5 Rouyn-Noranda 4 (OT); and Drummondville 8 Shawinigan 1.

At Charlottetown, Kirill Kabanov scored twice for Lewiston (37-22-4) had the Maineiacs only goal of the shootout. Cameron Critchlow had the other goal in regulation, while Nicholas Champion made 27 saves.

Titan 8, Screaming Eagles 1

At Bathurst, N.B., Jonathan Lessard had a hat trick and Gabriel Levesque and Zach O'Brien each had a goal and four assists as the Titan hammered Cape Breton.

Sebastien Trudeau, Garrett Clarke and David Gilbert also scored for Acadie-Bathurst (41-20-2).

Cory MacIntosh had the only goal for the Screaming Eagles (17-41-5).

Sea Dogs 5, Wildcats 4 (OT)

At Saint John, N.B., Stanislav Galiev scored at 16 seconds of overtime to lead the Sea Dogs over Moncton.

Danick Gauthier, Michael Kirkpatrick, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mike Thomas scored in regulation for Saint John (52-6-3).

Ted Stephens, with two, Marek Hrivik and Cole MacMillan had the goals for the Wildcats (30-22-10).

Drakkar 4, Tigres 2

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Maxime Gravel had three goals and an assist as the Drakkar beat Victoriaville.

Felix Girard had a goal and an assist for the Drakkar (11-42-9).

Samuel Groulx and Yannick Dube replied for Victoriaville (33-26-4).

Oceanic 6, Sagueneens 2

At Rimouski, Que., Jerome Gauthier-Leduc had two goals and an assist as the Oceanic beat Chicoutimi.

Gleason Fournier had a goal and two assists while Patrick Delisle-Houde, Alex Belzile and Jarrad Struthers also scored for Rimouski (29-30-3).

Alexandre Roy and Guillaume Asselin replied for Chicoutimi (27-24-11).

Olympiques 5, Huskies 4 (OT)

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Philip-Michael Devos scored his 44th goal of the year on overtime as Gatineau beat the Huskies.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau had two goals and three assists while Philippe Halley and Felix Bergeron also scored for the Olympiques (38-17-8).

Jason Kelley scored twice while Jeremi Janneteau and Jason Houde also had goals for Rouyn-Noranda (9-47-6).

Voltigeurs 8, Cataractes 1

At Shawinigan, Que., Remi Blanchard, Ondrej Palat and Jerome Raymond each had a goal and three assists as Drummondville beat the Cataractes.

Marc-Olivier Brouillard scored twice while Jean-Philippe Mathieu, Andre Bouvet-Morrissette and Sean Couturier also had goals for Drummondville (42-14-7).

Loik Poudrier scored for Shawinigan (37-22-3).
