Edmonton Oilers star Taylor Hall won't be traveling with the team to Colorado.
Hall injured his left ankle Thursday when he fell during a fight with Columbus forward Derek Dorsett.
The team announced Hall was scheduled to have an MRI on the ankle Friday afternoon. Edmonton starts a five-game road trip in Colorado on Saturday.
The Oilers rookie had a goal and assist prior to the second-period fight in a 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
It was the first-career fight for Hall, who leads the team in goals with 22 this season along with 20 assists. He is in contention for the NHL's rookie of the year award.
Hall's injury comes after Edmonton traded Dustin Penner to Los Angeles earlier this week and lost Ales Hemsky to a shoulder injury.
