VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP)—The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Victor Oreskovich(notes) from Manitoba of the American Hockey League after losing Mason Raymond(notes) to an apparent shoulder injury during Sunday's 3-0 win in Anaheim.
If Raymond couldn't play Tuesday in Phoenix, the Canucks would have been short a forward. Chris Higgins(notes), acquired in a trade with Florida a week earlier, is out with a broken thumb.
The 24-year-old Oreskovich had one assist in eight games on Vancouver's fourth line this season but was sent back to the AHL after the Canucks added Higgins and fourth-line center Maxim Lapierre(notes) just before the Feb. 28 NHL trade deadline.
