{allcanada} QMJHL: SAGUENEENS EDGE HUSKIES IN SHOOTOUT

Another game, another win for the new-look Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

Jonathan Bonneau had the only goal in the shootout as Chicoutimi edged the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-2 in QMJHL action Thursday night. The win improved new coach Marc-Etienne Hubert's record to 2-0.

Hubert took over coaching duties after Richard Martel, the all-time QMJHL leader in coaching wins, was fired as the club's head coach and general manager Wednesday. Chicoutimi earned a 5-3 decision over Rimouski to earn Etienne-Hubert a win in his head-coaching debut later Wednesday night.

In other action, the P.E.I. Rocket edged the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-4 while the Shawinigan Cataractes easily dispatched the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 8-0.

In Chicoutimi, Alexandre Lavoie and Guillaume Asselin had the goals in regulation for the Sagueneens (20-22-10). Goaltender Francis Desrosiers was solid, stopping 32 shots in regulation and overtime before turning aside all four shots he faced in the shootout.

Pierre-Karl Marion and Jessyko Bernard replied for Rouyn-Noranda (9-37-5). Robin Gusse stopped 24 shots as well as three of the four Sagueneens shootout attempts.

Rocket 5 Titan 4

At Bathurst, N.B., Matthew Hobbs and Ben Duffy shared the offensive workload to lead Prince Edward Island to the win.

Hobbs and Duffy each had two goals and an assist for the Rocket (23-21-7). Phillipe Paradis had the other goal and also added three assists.

Jeremie Blain, Marc-Oliver Mimar, Garrett Clarke and Jonathan Lessard scored for Acadie-Bathurst (33-17-2).

Cataractes 8 Screaming Eagles 0

At Shawinigan, Que., Benjamin Casavant and Ryan Kavanagh had two goals each to pace the Cataractes.

Dave Labrecque, Michael Bournival, Peter Sakaris and Samuel Hodhod had the other goals for Shawinigan (31-15-3). Labrecque and Sakaras both added three assists apiece.

Alex Dubeau stopped 24 shots for the shutout.

Andrew Hayes and Alexandre Veronneau combined to stop 18 shots for Cape Breton (15-34-3).
