LEWISTON, Maine -- Andrey Makarov made 37 saves Tuesday as the Lewiston Maineiacs downed the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-2 in the lone game in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Michael Chaput, with a goal and an assist, Cole Hawes, Kirill Kabanov and Ian Saab scored for Lewiston (34-16-2). Antoine Houde-Caron added two assists.
Dave Labrecque had a goal and an assist for Shawinigan (31-15-3), while Ryan Kavanagh also scored. Gabriel Girard made 31 saves in defeat.
The Maineiacs finished the night 1-for-6 on the power play and added a short-handed goal from Chaput in the third. The Cataractes wound up 0-for-6 with the man advantage.
