{allcanada} OHL: WHALERS SCORE FOUR UNANSWERED TO SINK STING

Dario Trutmann capped quite the comeback for the Plymouth Whalers on Thursday night.

Trutmann scored the winner with 37 seconds remaining as Plymouth scored four unanswered third-period goals en route to a 6-5 win over the Sarnia Sting.

Plymouth (28-18-13) trailed by three goals less than four minutes into the third. Jamie Devane made it a two-goal game before James Livingston tied it 5-5 with two unassisted goals, including one short-handed.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Niagara 6 Sault Ste. Marie 2; Barrie 3 Saginaw 2; Owen Sound 5 Peterborough 1; and Mississauga 4 Windsor 3 (SO).

In Sarnia, Ont., Trutmann directed a shot towards the net with 37 seconds remaining that Sarnia goaltender Troy Passingham deflected into his net.

Peter Neal and Robbie Czarnik also scored for the Whalers while Matt Mahalak made 28 saves.

Kale Kerbashian had a goal and three assists for the Sting (18-24-6), who let leads of 2-0 and 5-2 slip away. Nail Yakupov had two goals and an assist while Craig Hottot and Alex Galchenyuk also scored.

Passingham stopped 38 shots, but allowed four goals on 17 shots in the third to take the loss.

The Sting were 3-for-8 on the power play, while the Whalers struggled missing on five opportunities.

IceDogs 6 Greyhounds 2

At St. Catharines, Ont., Ryan Strome had a three-point night as Niagara beat Sault Ste. Marie.

Strome opened the scoring 3:29 into the game with his 26th goal of the season and added two assists to give him 81 points. He trails OHL scoring leader Tyler Toffoli of Ottawa by two points.

The projected 2011 top-10 NHL pick was named OHL player of the

Andrew Agozzino, David Pacan, Darren Archibald, Tim Billingsley and Dougie Hamilton also scored for Niagara (32-11-6).

David Broll and Carson Dubchak replied for the Greyhounds (16-26-7).

Colts 3 Spirit 2

At Barrie, Ont., Steven Beyers had three goals to lead the Colts to a win over Saginaw.

Colin Behenna added three assists for Barrie (10-35-4), which earned its second straight win after snapping a nine-game losing streak.

Jordan Szwarz and John McFarland scored for Saginaw (32-14-4).

Attack 5 Petes 1

At Peterborough, Ont., Matt Stanisz had three assists as Owen Sound won its fifth straight game with a victory over the Petes.

Andrew Shaw, Jay Gilbert, Garrett Wilson, Joey Hishon and Roman Berdnikov scored for Owen Sound (33-15-2).

Austin Watson scored for the Petes (15-32-2) while Bryce O'Hagan made 48 saves.

Majors 4 Spitfires 3 (SO)

At Windsor, Ont., Justin Shugg scored the shootout winner against his former team as Mississauga defeated the Spitfires.

Derek Shoenmakers scored twice for Mississauga (38-8-2) while Joseph Cramarossa had the other Majors goal.

Taylor Carnevale, with two, and Tom Kuhnhackl scored for the Spitfires (27-16-5).
