Michael Curtis had a goal and two assists as the Belleville Bulls upset the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.
Andy Bathgate, Mike Mascioli and Brett Mackie also scored for the Bulls, while Stephen Silas chipped in with three assists.
Maxim Kitsyn had the Majors' only goal.
Mississauga has the best record in the OHL's Eastern Conference, while Belleville has spent most of the season at the bottom of the standings and is currently ranked eighth in the conference.
The first period didn't see much action before the Bulls finally opened the scoring in the second frame. Mackie sprung Curtis on a breakaway and he made no mistake, beating goaltender J.P. Anderson for his ninth of the year.
Mississauga applied most of the pressure for the rest of the period and tied the game late. Kitsyn parked himself in front of the net and deflected a shot that fooled goalie Tyson Teichmann.
Belleville broke the game open early in the third, starting with Bathgate putting home a cross-ice feed on the power play 38 seconds into the period.
Mascioli took a pass at the top of the faceoff circle and ripped a slap shot top shelf just 10 seconds later.
Mackie put the game out of reach late, dancing in front of the net and roofing his 11th of the season.
Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Erie 2 Kitchener 1; Niagara 8 Peterborough 2; Plymouth 7 London 2; Ottawa 4 Saginaw 2; Kingston 6 Barrie 5 and Owen Sound 4 Guelph 3.
At Belleville, Ont., Teichmann made 32 saves for the Bulls (18-36-4).
Anderson made 19 saves for Mississauga (43-13-2).

At Erie, Pa., rookie Chris Festarini earned his first OHL win by stopping 27 shots in the Otters defeat of Kitchener.
Anthony Luciani and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Greg McKegg provided the offence for Erie (33-26-2) in the final minute of the period to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Rangers (36-16-7) capitalized on their first power play of the game, as Tyler Randell poked a rebound into the open left side of the net for a 1-0 lead 6:40 into the opening period. Brandon Maxwell made 26 saves.

At St. Catharines, Ont., rookie Joel Wigle and Freddie Hamilton both scored two goals apiece as Niagara rolled Peterborough.
Darren Archibald, Ryan Strome, Myles Doan and Mitchell Theoret had the other goals for the IceDogs (38-14-6).
Austin Watson and Luke Heitkamp replied for the Petes (19-39-2).

At Plymouth, Mich., Stefan Noesen struck twice and added an assist as the Whalers crushed London.
Austin Levi and James Livingston both had a goal and an assist for Plymouth (33-21-5). Mitchell Heard, Alex Aleardi and Rickard Rakell chipped in as well.
Stephen Sanza and Colin Martin replied for the Knights (32-23-5).

At Saginaw, Mich., despite being out shot 48-20, Ottawa beat the Spirit.
Brett Gustavsen had a goal and an assist for the 67's (38-19-3). Nicholas Foglia and Ben Dubois added singles,while Ryan Martindale had an empty-net goal.
Jordan Szwarz had a goal for Saginaw (37-18-5) and Brandon Saad scored and added an assist.

At Barrie, Ont., Dylan Smoskowitz had four goals in a losing cause as Kingston edged the Colts.
Nathan Moon had three goals for the Frontenacs (27-25-6), while Ethan Werek, Charles Sarault and Erik Gudbranson had the others.
Matt Ashman had the other goal for Barrie (12-44-4), which has lost six straight and eight in its last nine.

At Owen Sound, Ont., Andrew Fritsch scored twice and had two assists as the Attack slipped by Guelph.
Roman Berdnikov had a goal and set up one other for Owen Sound (39-17-4), while captain Garett Wilson added a single.
Peter Holland, Brock McGinn and Zack Mitchell replied for the Storm (29-25-5).
