MONCTON, N.B. -- The CFL is heading back to Atlantic Canada.

The league announced Monday that a 2011 regular season game will be played in Moncton.

The city hosted the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos last year in a game that sold out in just 36 hours.

The Eskimos' 24-6 victory in front of 20,725 fans Moncton Stadium, was the first-ever CFL regular season game to be played in Atlantic Canada.

Details of the upcoming contest and participating teams will be announced along with the CFL's 2011 schedule.

"We're thrilled to be bringing another regular season game to the city of Moncton, and our fans and friends from across Atlantic Canada," CFL commissioner Mark Cohon said in a statement.

Despite the previous game's success, the league is still considering whether to play future games in the region, Cohon added.

"Time will tell whether we are expanding our footprint in the region, or in a position to consider actual expansion to Atlantic Canada," Cohon said.
