Goaltenders were in the thick of things on Saturday night.

Matt Hewitt made 32 stops to lead the Regina Pats to a 3-1 win over the Prince Albert Raiders in the Western Hockey League.

After a scoreless first, Shayne Neigum got the Pats on the board with a pretty goal off a face-off midway through the second.

In the third, Regina kept coming as Tanner Olstad backhanded in his third of the year and Bell struck on a power play.

Things got a little rough after that.

At the end of a rush Prince Albert's Austin Bourhis ran Regina goalie Hewitt and was given a major for charging and a game misconduct.

Regina captain Garrett Mitchell responded a few minutes later with a hit to Raider goalie Jamie Tucker as the netminder played the puck in the corner.

The run-in resulted in a fight between Mitchell and Raider defenceman James Bettauer.

Maylan's goal came midway through the third -- a flop shot that fluttered up, over and behind Hewitt to break his shutout bid.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Tri-City 3 Everett 1; Spokane 5 Kelowna 2; Lethbridge 8 Swift Current 2; Calgary 3 Medicine Hat 1; Saskatoon 7 Red Deer 3 and Kamloops 3 Seattle 2.

At Regina, Myles Bell also scored for the Pats (12-20-6).

Justin Maylan had the lone goal for Prince Albert (14-22-4).

Americans 3 Silvertips 1

At Everett, Wash., Brendan Shinnimin had two goals and an assist to lead Tri-City past the Silvertips.

Tyler Schmidt added a late power-play goal for the Americans (22-11-2) after Brennan Yadlowski's tripping penalty took the suspense out of the final moments.

Kellan Tochkin scored the lone goal for Everett (16-18-5).

---

Chiefs 5 Rockets 2

At Kelowna, B.C., Levko Koper scored three goals as Spokane beat the Rockets.

Brady Brassart and Darren Kramer also scored for the Chiefs (22-10-5), who are on a four-game winning streak and is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games.

Shane McColgan and Colton Sissons replied for Kelowna (21-16-0), which still leads the B.C. Division by one point over Prince George.

---

Hurricanes 8 Broncos 2

At Lethbridge, Alta., Austin Fyten had a hat trick as part of a six-point night as the Hurricanes hammered Swift Current.

Cam Braes had a pair of goals, including the eventual winner, for Lethbridge (13-17-8) and added an assist. Brody Sutter had a goal and set up two others, while Mitch Maxwell and Jacob Berglund chipped in as well.

Trevor Cameron and Taylor Vause replied for the Broncos (19-22-1), who have lost six in a row.

Hitmen 3 Tigers 1

At Medicine Hat, Alta., on the strength of a well-played third period, Calgary downed the Tigers.

Colten Mayor, Byron Froese and Tyson Ness replied for the Rebels (24-11-4).

---

Blazers 3 Thunderbirds 2

At Kent, Wash., Kamloops scored twice in the third period to come from behind and beat Seattle.
