CHAMONIX, France -- Canadian skier Manuel Osborne-Paradis has been taken to a hospital after crashing heavily during a World Cup downhill in the French Alps.
Osborne-Paradis lost his balance after one of his skis got caught on the Verte Course and he flew into the safety net.
The 26-year-old Osborne-Paradis' condition was not immediately known. The native of Invermere, B.C., was attached to a sled and airlifted by helicopter from the slope.
Ottawa's Ryan Semple injured a knee in a training crash Thursday.
