{allcanada} OHL: SUDBURY UPSETS LEAGUE-LEADING MAJORS

Andrey Kuchin scored twice, including a power-play goal, as the lowly Sudbury Wolves defeated the Ontario Hockey League-leading Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 6-5 on Saturday night.

Captain Marcus Foligno, Eric O'Dell, Mike Lomas, and Alex Racino also chipped in for Sudbury (13-24-2). Mathew Campagna and Josh McFadden both had a pair of assists.

Casey Cizikas did his best to keep Mississauga (30-7-1) in the game, contributing a hat trick and a pair of assists in the loss.

The recently acquired Maxim Kitsyn, who won a gold medal in the 2011 world junior hockey championship with Russia, contributed two goals and an assist.

Kitsyn has three goals and two assists in two games since joining the Majors.

Mississauga's JP Anderson let in three goals on eight shots in the first period. Anthony Peters replaced Anderson to start the second, stopping 13-of-16 shots. Sudbury's Alain Valiquette was dynamite, stopping 41-of-46 shots in the win.

The Wolves' special teams were great, going 3-for-6 on the power play, and only allowed one power play goal on Mississauga's five opportunities with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Kingston 5 Erie 3; Sudbury 6 Mississauga 5; Owen Sound 2 Belleville 1; Sarnia 4 Plymouth 2; Saginaw 3 London 2 and Oshawa 8 Barrie 2.

Frontenacs 5 Otters 3

At Erie, Pa., Michael Fine scored twice as Kingston raced to a win over the Otters.

Nathan Moon and Sean Jones both had a goal and an assist for the Frontenacs (19-15-4), while Corey Durocher had a single.

Brett Cook had two goals for Erie (20-19-2) while Phil Varone also scored. The Otters lost for the first time in four games.

Attack 2 Bulls 1

At Belleville, Ont., Keevin Cutting had two assists for Owen Sound as they dealt with the Bulls.

Andrew Shaw and Robby Mignardi both scored first-period goals for the Attack (25-12-2).

Kyle DeCoste countered for Belleville (12-25-3).

Sting 4 Whalers 2

At Plymouth, Ont., Brett Ritchie and Alex Galchenyuk both had a goal and an assist to lead Sarnia to a win over the Whalers.

Garrett Hooey and OHL rookie scoring leader Nail Yakupov also scored for the Sting (17-18-4).

Stefan Noesen and Mitchell Heard replied for Plymouth (21-17-2).

Spirit 3 Knights 2

At Saginaw, Mich., the Spirit held off a late London rally to earn a close win.

Jordan Szwarz, Vincent Trocheck and Ivan Telegin scored the first three goals as Saginaw (26-8-4) took an early 3-0 lead.

Vladislav Namestnikov scored twice in the third to close the gap for the Knights (18-16-4).

Generals 8 Colts 2

At Barrie, Ont., Andy Andreoff scored two goals and a pair of assists in a fight-filled affair, as Oshawa trounced the Colts.

Christian Thomas and Nicklas Jensen both had two goals for Oshawa (22-9-7), while Lucas Lessio and Emerson Clark had singles.

Colin Behenna scored twice for Barrie (8-28-4) to give him points in 11 of his last 12 games.
