Cody Lindsay scored three times Friday night and his rookie linemate Sean Monahan had a goal and three assists to lead the Ottawa 67's to a 7-4 victory over the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League action.

OHL scoring leader Tyler Toffoli notched his league-best 43rd goal of the season and added two assists to give him 83 points on the year and the 67's (30-15-2) won for the second time in three games.

Ryan Martindale also added a goal and two assists and Dalton Smith, filling in for the injured Shane Prince with Toffoli and Martindale on Ottawa's top line, had the other marker.

Lindsay scored twice in the third period to break open a 4-3 hockey game and record his second career OHL hat trick.

"It's always nice to score goals, but to get three and help the team win is big," Lindsay said. "Our first line is always putting the points up there, but we've got to take the pressure off of them."

Shayne Campbell made 17 saves for East Division-leading Ottawa.

Barrie, the OHL's worst team, managed to beat the 67's 6-4 on New Year's Eve for one of just its eight wins on the season, but that wasn't the case Friday as it slumped to its ninth loss in a row.
