{allcanada} ARCA: Dufault, Austin, Marks Deliver at Daytona Test; Champion Crew Chief Wolfe Confident in Duno

 

Canadian Maryeve Dufault was one of three drivers testing for Tony Marks Racing last week at Daytona International Speedway, and the new ARCA driver performed well enough to inspire confidence in her team owner.

Dufault's Thursday afternoon lap of 49.203 seconds (182.916 mph) was the fastest of the week for the Ohio-based No. 12 Dodge, which also featured 21-year-old NASCAR driver Chase Austin and Jared Marks. Dufault ranked 29th overall for the test, just inside the top half of the week's field.

"We're happy with the results thus far in Daytona. In a short time, I feel like we've been able to build a strong team with a talented group of people," said team owner Tony Marks. "They still have a lot to learn here in Daytona and ahead in 2011, but I'm very pleased with the overall effort of TMR this week."

Crew Chief Wolfe Looking Forward to Daytona Return with Duno: Jon Wolfe won last season's ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship as the crew chief for Patrick Sheltra, and is faced this season with the task of developing Milka Duno as a stock car driver. If his comments from testing at Daytona are any indication, the Venezuelan is on her way. Duno finished the test 13th overall in the No. 63 Sheltra Motorsports Dodge, driving a best lap of 48.673 seconds (184.907 mph) in the draft on Wednesday afternoon.  

"Milka did extremely well this week," said Wolfe.  "I think we got what we wanted out of the test.  We look forward to getting back to DIS in February where we can spend more time drafting and practicing in larger packs.  She will give a good performance when the green flag drops on race day."
