[SurroundSound] playback options

Hello

I have finally connected a media player to my home theater system with
mixed results. The product is here http://ca.marantz.com/AV8003_Network_DFU_U_EN.pdf

The manual states WAV compatibility. It does not only WMA lossless and
MP3. So I have an HDMI output on my desk top vista computer I think I
could plug directly into the processor bypassing the network player
function.

I would require a windows remote which I understand are economical.
The question for the forum is what do I use to control the media?
Should I stick to windows media center? Will that come through as seen
on the computer screen through the HDMI connection to my monitor? The
monitor is an old TV with 480i resolution. the network has adjustable
resolution to accommodate so that was a plus. I do not know if I cvn
do the same with the computer and HDMI out. There is also DVI and VGA
outputs.

I have taken a while to get to this step and yes the network player
works but the sound will be lossy only. I would like a better
solution.

Thanks
