RE: [SurroundSound] Re: Proposal: Upmix to 4.0 as well as 5.1

Oayz
Thanks - With all due respect this is how Floyd recorded it as 4.0. Any
change to this would mean it's a remix and not a Remaster. If you get
yourself a PC and a copy of Andrews lab plug-in (free) you will get all the
.1 bass you need without buying a receiver that will do the job for you...

First I'd like to thank everyone whos work I'm enjoying listening Pink
Floyd's WYWH quad release. Having said this IMHO missing sub-channel on this
release is a huge disappointment. On CD on "Machine" bass is rambling down
to 15Hz. I have decent Polk RT800i (42Hz @-3dB) but they can't compete with
DIY sub (28Hz @ -3dB, 105SPL, non-vented). As a result I've lost all bass on
4.0 release because my receiver (Onkyo
SR608) will not convert 4.0 to 4.1

So my suggestion is 4.1 - no center (converting L/R into L/C/R, though
possible, does change sound, especially if LCR are not perfectly
matched) but do have subwoofer channel (below 80Hz, as per spec)

Thanks!!!
