{allcanada} WHL: DOUBLE HAT TRICKS HELP MOOSE JAW DOWN REGINA

25 Days of Christmas, new deals everyday only at TimeLife.com!

Spencer Edwards and Antonin Honejsek each had a hat trick to lead the Moose Jaw Warriors to a wild 9-6 win over the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.

Honejsek also had two assists on the night for Moose Jaw (16-11-1), while Dylan Hood and A.J. Johnson had a goal and an assist each and Jordon Wyton scored once.

Thomas Frazee had two goals and an assist for Regina (7-16-5), while Jordan Weal provided a goal and two assists, Carter Ashton with a goal and an assist and Garrett Mitchell and Trent Ouellette with a goal apiece.

It was a wacky game from start to finish.

The Warriors opened scoring with a two-on-none short-handed breakaway goal by Edwards and ended it with an empty net buzzer beater from Johnson.

In between were breakaway goals, power-play goals, a goal awarded after a lengthy video replay and a strange play that allowed Regina its best chance to get back in the game.

Down 4-2, Regina's Weal lost the puck as he entered the Moose Jaw zone when Warrior Joel Edmundson shot a broken stick in Weal's path.

Weal was awarded a penalty shot and he made good on it, beating Warrior goalie Thomas Heemskerk with a nifty move to make it a 4-3 game.

But just over a minute later Honejsek got the goal back with a pretty goal of his own.

The two teams went back and forth from that point on, literally scoring until the clock ran out with Johnson's empty netter crossing the line a split second before the buzzer.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Chilliwack 3 Kelowna 2; Edmonton 8 Brandon 4; Saskatoon 4 Kamloops 3 (OT); Portland 5 Tri-City 1; Seattle 5 Prince George 4; Red Deer 3 Prince Albert 0; Spokane 3 Medicine Hat 2 (OT); Everett 6 Swift Current 0 and Calgary 4 Vancouver 3.
