{allcanada} MCQUILLAN, BARYLA LEAD CANADIANS VYING FOR PGA TOUR CARDS

 

Calgary's Chris Baryla and Matt McQuillan of Kingston, Ontario lead a contingent of Canadians vying for their PGA Tour cards at Qualifying School in Florida.

The top 25 finishers plus ties earn full cards for the PGA Tour next season. Players finishing out of the top 25 earn playing status on the Nationwide Tour.

Baryla, who is playing to upgrade his conditional PGA status for next season, fired a 6-under 66 today and is tied for 12th at 12-under.

McQuillan is also in contention after shooting a 1-under 71 today to sit at 11-under for the tournament, tied for 15th.

Jon Mills of Oshawa, Ontario is 3-under through 15 holes in a group tied for 36th at 7-under.

Vancouver's Richard T. Lee and Matt Richardson of Woodbridge, Ontario are well back while Ted Brown of Peterborough, Ontario and Victoria's David McKenzie finished out of contention.

David Hearn of Brampton, Ont. earned a full PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list while Canadians Stephen Ames, Mike Weir, and Graham DeLaet already have PGA full-time status.
