MEDICINE HAT, Alta. -- Glenn Howard and Shannon Kleibrink each remained undefeated and atop their groups with eighth-draw victories Friday at the Canada Cup of Curling.
Howard improved to 4-0 atop Section B in the men's standings with a 6-4 win over Mat Camm (0-5). That kept him ahead of Kevin Koe (3-1), who's in action later.
Randy Ferbey, meanwhile, fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with an 8-3 loss to Mike McEwen. Both rinks are 3-1, behind Olympic champion Kevin Martin (3-0) in Section A.
Kleibrink moved to 4-0 atop Section A in the women's competition with a 10-6 win over Shelley Nichols (0-5).
Olympic silver medallist Cheryl Bernard and Krista McCarville each improved to 3-1 to remain tied atop Section B.
Bernard was a 9-4 winner over Heather Nedohin (1-3) while McCarville collected singles in the final three ends for a 5-3 win Kelly Scott (0-5).
