ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP)—Rene Bourque(notes) and Alex Tanguay(notes) scored in a shootout to give the Calgary Flames a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night.
Flames goalie Henrik Karlsson(notes) stopped Minnesota's Mikko Koivu(notes) and Pierre-Marc Bouchard(notes) to start the shootout, but the Wild's Patrick O'Sullivan(notes) extended the tiebreaker. Bourque then beat Niklas Backstrom(notes) between the legs to give the Flames only their fourth victory in their past 12 games.
Tanguay and Mark Giordano(notes) scored in regulation for the Flames. Karlsson, playing for only the fourth time this season, stopped 20 shots for Calgary.
Martin Havlat(notes) and Bouchard scored in regulation goals for the Wild.
