WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers say they are confident they can raise an extra $4 million a year to help pay for a new stadium.
Club chairman Bill Watchorn says new corporate suites, higher ticket prices and the sale of naming rights will raise much of the money.
The Canadian Football League club will also raise its facility fee on each ticket from $2 to $6, and is counting on having an extra 2,000 fans every game.
The Bombers are on the hook for $85 million of the planned $190-million stadium that is slated to open in 2012.
Watchorn says the club's portion will total $176 million over 44 years once interest is calculated.
The Bombers have required taxpayer bailouts in previous years.
