[SurroundSound] Re: What does GART stands for?

GART = "Great Audio Remix Technique."

GART was initially the name of the method used by a guy formerly in
the surround world who would go by the tags Fretzcapo and At441hz. He
was one of the first to really begin tagging his mixes with any sort
of name, and those mixes became to be known as "GART" mixes and would
eventually become the tag he'd be known best by. Unfortunately, he
never made his method public, which was unfortunate, and one of the
reasons why it's important to us at SBU to make our methods completely
public once they are correctly up and running.

Because of the use of their tags, GART and TOUP mixes became very much
talked about upon their release. As a slight wink, he may have
sometimes used the alternate "Gold And Rose Technologies" to mean GART
as well.

Like the TOUP mixes, though, GART mixes are, at this point, several
years old, and upmixing technology has improved since. With some
albums, there is much better work out there now.
