The MLP decoder is the one with the issue - I've found that if you convert mlp to flac; just using Xrecode you get the correct placement. Weirdly on my Xonar's I get different results on configuration of the output plug-in and this is clearly repeatable so obviously a bug. I found this whilst testing with Oxford Dickie.

 

Flacs should be consistent as they are only wav files and should be theoretically correct.

 

Whilst on the subject of OD - anyone in the UK that can decode CD-4 vinyl??

Thanks.  I have been looking for channel ID tests for a long time. Especially for DVD-A and DTS FLAC.  I have this hypothesis that foobar decodes DVD-A ok but sends to the wrong channels. I suspect the rears are reversed.  This should let me test this.  So many things in the sound production path can malfunction.  Maybe foobar is ok? Maybe I will be able to identify what is malfunctioning.  I think it is neat also to have others using the same tests to compare results to.  Another hard to find channel Id test is for DTS-HD converted to Flac.  I don't think all flac codecs available are decoding to the proper speakers either.  I try to stay away from Burning CD and DVD.  I prefer to load ISO or CUE directly to foobar, VLC, KMPlayer, or Shaplayer.  I them send output "Bitperfect?" from my USB Sound Card to  SPDIF (Coax) to my receiver/amplifier.
