Adam Morrison made 23 saves to lead the Saskatoon Blades to a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Giants in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.
Morrison only had to make five third-period saves to preserve the win, but was sharp in helping Saskatoon kill off six Vancouver power plays.
Chris Collins and Josh Nicholls had goals for the Blades.
Brendan Rowinski scored for Vancouver while Mark Segal made 21 saves.
Saskatoon (19-6-1) leads the East Division while Vancouver (13-10-4) is still tied for first in the B.C. Division.
Elsewhere in the WHL, Medicine Hat beat Seattle 3-1 and Kootenay beat Everett 3-1.
Saskatoon opened the scoring with 1:07 left in the first period.
Brent Benson stopped the puck and passed it to Collins, who beat Segal with a wrap-around. It was Collins' fourth goal of the season and third in 10 games since joining the Blades earlier this month from the Chilliwack Bruins.
The Giants had a five-on-three power play for 76 seconds in the second period, but could only muster a few opportunities before a Greg Lamoureux high-sticking penalty ended it early.
On the ensuing power play, Curtis Hamilton dropped the puck to Nicholls, and his snap shot beat Segal for his 12th goal of the season.
Hamilton, an Edmonton Oilers prospect, leads the WHL with a plus-26 rating.
Vancouver had a chance to get on the board later in the period when they had a brief seven-second two-man advantage, but Morrison continued his sharp play.
The Giants got on the board with a short-handed goal with just over two minutes to go in the second period. Rowinski rushed down the left side on a two-on-one and beat Morrison through his legs while killing a penalty to teammate Neil Manning.
Segal picked up the only assist on Rowinski's first goal since coming to Vancouver from the Moose Jaw Warriors three weeks ago.
Rowinski had another short-handed opportunity early in the third period but Morrison was able to get a glove on the shot.
