{allcanada} SHUGG SCORES TWICE AGAINST FORMER TEAM, MAJORS BEAT GENERALS

 

OSHAWA, Ont. -- Justin Shugg scored a pair of goals against his former team as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors beat the Oshawa Generals 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Tuesday.

Oshawa opened the scoring on Alain Berger's first-period power-play goal.

Mississauga took control in the second, scoring three times and hitting the post on three other occasions.

Shugg scored to tie the game 1-1, Devante Smith-Pelly gave the Majors a 2-1 lead and Derek Shoenmakers made it 3-1 on a short-handed penalty shot.

The second period was also very physical with five fights in an eight-minute span.

Shugg rounded out the scoring with the only goal of the third period.

JP Anderson made 23 saves for the Majors (12-2-0).

Michael Zador stopped 18 shots for the Generals (8-4-3).

The game started a 11 a.m. ET as part of the Generals' school day promotion.
