One coordinator with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats is gone and another one and possibly two will follow, Sportsnet.ca has learned.
As first reported by Sportsnet.ca on Monday, offensive coordinator Mike Gibson is gone.
His contract, along with the other coaches, is over at year's end. Gibson's departure is due to personal reasons: he became engaged to a woman from western Canada. Whether he would have been retained is open to speculation.
Defensive coordinator Greg Marshall is not expected back with the club.
The two worked together in Saskatchewan.
Hall will likely be on the short list for the head coaching job in Saskatchewan, if Ken Miller gives up that post to concentrate solely on football operations. Riders' offensive coordinator Doug Berry is expected to be the other candidate to take over as coach.
Meanwhile, speculation continues concerning Stampeders offensive coordinator Dave Dickenson, who is one of three Calgary coaches to be interviewed this week for the vacant head coaching job in Edmonton.
A source told Sportsnet.ca that Dickenson will decline the job if offered. Ideally he'd like to coach in B.C. because his wife is from Vancouver.
The thinking is Dickenson will either stay in Calgary to continue in his current role and possibly succeed John Hufnagel, if he decides to concentrate on managing the team after this season. Dickenson will also be highly sought after when Lions' GM/coach retires after next season, as expected.
