Re: [SurroundSound] They Way Of Suffering

Thanks Mugs.  I was pleasantly surprised at the good reviews I've gotten (here and elsewhere) for an album that was recorded for under $1000, and is blatantly dark and overtly religious in nature.  It was also, in ways, a bit of a departure from our previous work.  I think its the honesty of it that makes it work.

I am currently engineering for the band Proven, with my brother on bass and my buddy Mat on lead guitar.  Mat is the guitarist for my band.  You can see video I recorded live of songs from the current project here...

The full DVD with 5.1 is available via torrent.

As for my band, I have (very) slowly started uploading our entire discography to YouTube.  But I haven't upped anything you don't have yet except "Wonderful" our dark Christmas song which is the featured video.  The YouTube link is...

The "Live" EP is there, but I think that was the bonus tracks on The Way of Suffering.  But I think it's worth hearing if you haven't heard it.

A direct download link for "Wonderful" is here...

I am also sitting on 2 unfinished albums.  The first, a studio album, I am VERY proud of.  "Wonderful", which is from that album was the hardest track to mix as the multitrack for that song was 64 tracks!  The rest of the tracks include some of our best ever.  The first 4 tracks on our myspace are from that album.

The second album I'm sitting on is a 2 CD compilation of Live and previously unreleased tracks.  The last 2 tracks on our myspace are from that album... including "Liar" which was covered by Proven, and a live jam version of King's X's "Over My Head".

NOW AS FOR THE UPMIXES...  I had expressed interest to Lokks but didn't want to bug him.  I very much would enjoy hearing your upmix as well as the partial one that is also out there.  Knowing the mix so well, it would be quite interesting to see how it turned out.

Thanks for the interest and your kind words,
S

On this note I Have failed; because I promised Stephen (Disney) that I would
let it him have your upmix; which to me was a very good job, but it went
back to last year when there was a lot of   debate over upmixes so it has
been stuck on my drive since then.
Mugs, This is really a great piece of work from all involved so can you
please release this. Sorry Steve for my in intransigence born out of my own
busy ness. BTW it is best in FLAC, not DTS.
Cheers
Lokks

Mr Disney was kind enough to let a few of us listen to the work he and his
band did. I have to say Mr Disney that I truly love this music. I happened
to have a PDF file that came with it which contained all the words to these
songs. This to me makes it even better. If you have more like this I would
love to hear it. Thanks again for sharing.
