from elsewhere, so this is the situation. There is no way of knowing
otherwise BTW. And when my Apex was upgraded it happened to me too, so one
can't even be selective. My Apex upgraded itself, so I had no choice. I
think the issue is Apex and we did discuss it way back when. As the
Americans say - period.

I understand Richard being miffed about this and also realise that he was
away from hub activity for several months and may not have been in contact
when the hoo hah over DHT was current.
IMHO an auto bahn was OTT. A word in his 'shell-like' would have been much
more appropriate.
However I'm not familiar with how moderators can tell when members have not
disabled the default DHT. It may not be easy for mods to whisper in one's
ear about it, so they are forced to use a ban, I dunno.
On the other hand it raises this issue of security again and I for one am
all for as much security as possible.
I wonder what is going to happen, in the not distant future, when people
become lackadaisical about updating their Apex and forget to check on DHT,
that is now enabled by default.
Will we be getting more bans soon due to such oversights?
How can we better solve this problem of DHT being enabled by default?
Personally I'm still running version 1.3.5 and see no reason yet to update,
but sooner or later I guess I will update. Will I remember at that time to
uncheck DHT default setting.........?
