{allcanada} QMJHL: HYNES SCORES TWICE, VICTORIAVILLE EDGE GATINEAU IN OT

Brandon Hynes took charge of the Victoriaville Tigres' game Saturday night.

The 18-year-old winger scored twice, including the overtime winner, as Victoriaville snuck by the Gatineau Olympiques 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Hynes' first goal came at the midway point of the second, tying the score at 2-2. Both teams were scoreless for the next 30 minutes of play to force extra time.

It took just 1:33 for Hynes to end the game though, putting the puck away on a pass from linemate Philip-Michael Devos.

Starting goaltender David Honzik was pulled in the first period after letting in two goals on seven shots. His replacement Antonio Mastropietro stopped all 16 shots he faced.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Shawinigan 5 Chicoutimi 0, Baie-Comeau 3 Moncton and Val-d'Or 4 Lewiston 1.

At Victoriaville, Que., Devos had the other goal for the Tigres (4-2-1) and also assisted on both of Hynes' goals.

Igor Levitsky and Philippe Halley tallied for Gatineau (2-4-2).

Cataractes 5 Sagueneens 0

At Shawinigan, Que., Alex Dubeau made 14 saves as the Cataractes held Chicoutimi scoreless.

Loik Poudrier had a pair of goals for Shawinigan (4-3-1), while Maximilien Le Sieur, Dave Labrecque and Joe Dube.

Robin Gusse stopped 32 for the Sagueneens (4-3-1).

Wildcats 6 Drakkar 3

At Moncton, N.B., Alex MacDonald struck twice as the Wildcats sunk Baie-Comeau.

Devon MacAusland and Allain Saulnier both had a goal and two assists for Moncton (6-2-1), while Brandon Gormley and Simon Jodoin added singles.

Marc-Olivier Mimar, Kevin Fiset and Alexandre Durette supplied the offence for the Drakkar (1-7-0).

Foreurs 4 Maineiacs 1

At Val-d'Or, Que., Cedrick Henley scored twice, including the eventual winner, as the Foreurs were never in danger of losing to Lewiston.

Marc-Alain Begin added a marker and two assists for Val-d'Or (4-3-0), while Olivier Archambault also tallied.

Antoine Houde-Caron was the lone scorer for the Maineiacs (3-4-2).
