St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild announced Saturday that backup goaltender Josh Harding will need surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL and is likely to miss the 2010-11 season.
Harding, 26, was injured in a collision midway through the first period of Friday's preseason game with St. Louis Blues forward Brad Boyes, who was checked into Harding by Wild defenseman Greg Zanon.
The Saskatchewan native posted a 9-12-0 record with a 3.05 goals-against average and .905 save percentage last season for Minnesota.
