{allcanada} QMJHL: VOLTIGEURS OUTLAST SEA DOGS TO REMAIN UNDEFEATED

The Drummondville Voltigeurs needed extra time to hold onto their perfect record.

Ondrej Palat and Alexandre Comtois scored in the shootout as Drummondville rallied to a 7-6 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Saturday night.

Saint John had a 6-4 lead early in the third when top prospect Sean Couturier scored his seventh of the season to bring the Voltigeurs to within one.

Nicolas Dionne then tied it with eight minutes left in regulation.

Overtime belonged to Drummondville as they pelted Frederic Piche with six shots while preventing the Sea Dogs from registering a single shot on net.

Comtois scored in the first round of the shooutout, as did Saint John's Tomas Jurco.

Piche and Drummondville's Guillaume Nadeau turned aside all comers for the next three rounds until Palat finally found the back of the net.

The Voltigeurs remain the only undefeated team in the QMJHL and their six win puts them at the top of the West Division.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Montreal 6 Val-d'Or 2, Moncton 5 Chicoutimi 4 (SO), Rouyn-Noranda 3 Victoriaville 1, P.E.I. 3 Cape Breton 1, Lewiston 2 Acadie-Bathurst 1 and Quebec 4 Halifax 1.

At Drummondville, Que., Jean-Philippe Mathieu, Jonathan Brunelle, Julien Tremblay and Marc-Olivier Vachon also scored for the Voltigeurs (6-0-0).

Scott Oke had a pair of goals for Saint John (4-1-1), while Danick Gauthier scored and added two assists. Jonathan Huberdeau, Steven Anthony and Jurco chipped in as well.

Junior 6 Foreurs 2

At Montreal, Janos Hari had a pair of goals as the Junior knocked Val-d'Or.

Michael Clarke, Francis Meilleur, Philippe Lefebvre and Trevor Parkes filled out the offence for Montreal (3-1-2).

Olivier Archambault and Marc-Alain Begin replied for the Foreurs (3-3-0).

Wildcats 5 Sagueneens 4 (SO)

At Chicoutimi, Que., Alex Saulnier and Daniel Pettersson both scored in the shootout as Moncton edged the Sagueneens.

Saulnier and Marek Hrivik both had back-to-back goals in regulation time for the Wildcats (3-2-1).

Guillaume Asselin and Rock Regimbald each had a power-play goal for Chicoutimi (4-1-0), while Steve Lebel and Charles Hudon chipped in as well.

Huskies 3 Tigres 1

At Victoriaville, Que., Robbie DeFulviis tallied in the second period to give Rouyn-Noranda the lead for good.

Jessyko Bernard opened scoring for the Huskies (2-4-0), while Branden Eden added insurance in the third.

Yanni Gourde's one goal wasn't enough for the Tigres (3-2-1).

Rocket 3 Screaming Eagles 1

At Sydney, N.S., Andrei Nestrasil put away the eventual winner early in the third period as P.E.I. dropped Cape Breton.

Matthew Hobbs and Philippe Paradis also scored for the Rocket (3-3-0).

Stephen Woodworth had the only goal for the Screaming Eagles (2-4-0).

Maineiacs 2 Titan 1

At Lewiston, Maine, Jess Tanguy provided all the offence as the Maineiacs rallied past Acadie-Bathurst.

Tanguy scored nearly six minutes into the third period for Lewiston (2-3-1) and then put away the winner with eight minutes left to play.

Christophe Losier was the only scorer for the Titan (4-2-0).

Remparts 4 Mooseheads 1

At Quebec, Frederick Roy had a pair of goals to lead the Remparts past Halifax.

Mathieu Lavallee and Tomas Filippi also scored for Quebec (5-0-1).

Andrew Ryan had his second of the season for the Mooseheads (2-5-0).
