{allcanada} QMJHL: LEFRANCOIS STRONG AS OCEANIC EARN WIN OVER MOOSEHEADS

Skill met savagery as the Rimouski Oceanic won a physical game Sunday afternoon.

Felix Lefrancois scored twice and added an assist as the Oceanic cruised to a 9-2 win over the Halifax Mooseheads in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Although Rimouski's offence was on full display with eight different players scoring, including four goals in a ten-minute span in the second period, the game was also rough.

Halifax's Charles Bety squared off with Rimouski's Jonathan Lavoie with two minutes left in regulation. When play resumed, Alexandre Mallet of the Oceanic and Pascal Amyot of the Mooseheads fought.

During the melees Halifax's Gerrad Grant and Garrett Clarke earned minor penalties. Jarrad Struthers was able to take advantage of the ensuing power play and score Rimouski's final goal of the day.

The Mooseheads were assessed 16 penalties for a combined 32 minutes in the box and the Oceanic earned 20 minutes worth of penalties spread over 10 infractions.

Halifax was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Rimouski went 4-for-10.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Shawinigan 6 Gatineau 4.

At Rimouski, Que., Michael Beaudry, Jonathan Lavoie, Julien Levasseur, Patrick Delisle-Houde, Alex Emond and Petr Straka chipped in for the Oceanic (4-3-0).

Darcy Ashley and Gabriel Desjardins tallied for the Mooseheads (2-6-0).

Cataractes 6 Olympiques 4

At Gatineau, Que., Samuel Hodhod had a pair of goals as Shawinigan rallied past the Olympiques.

Yannick Veilleux, Benjamin Casavant, Loik Poudrier and Michael Bournival had four unanswered goals as the Cataractes (3-2-1) recovered from an early two-goal deficit.

Yoan Pinette, Christian Ouellet, Samuel Morneau and Hugo Laporte had built a 4-2 lead for Gatineau (1-4-1), before Shawinigan bounced back.
