The Toronto Blue Jays called up third baseman Jarrett Hoffpauir and pitchers Josh Roenicke and Rommie Lewis from triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Sportsnet has learned.
All three could be with the Blue Jays on Sunday in New York where the club is playing the Yankees.
More moves could come Monday since the Jays still need a starter for Wednesday vs. the Texas Rangers. Two possibilities are lefty Brad Mills or righty Scott Richmond. At this point it looks like Jeremy Accardo, who has 24 saves and was named PCL reliever of the year, won't be recalled.
Third baseman Hoffpauir is hitting .295 with 16 HR and 73 RBI in 107 games.
The 28-year-old Roenicke has a record of 9-1 with a 3.64 ERA in 36 relief appearances this season.
Lefthanded reliever Lewis has a record of 1-5 with a 7.59 ERA in 53.1 innings while pitching in 13 games earlier this year with the Blue Jays.
