Josh Koscheck is starting his campaign to dethrone Montreal mixed martial arts star Georges St-Pierre with an edge, saying he has "a frenchy's ass to kick."
The American made the comment on Twitter last Friday.
He was responded to a tweet from clothing sponsor Dethrone Royalty about Koscheck relaxing in the Bahamas.
"There are no belts in the bahamas, time to get back to work!" tweeted Dethrone.
Said Koscheck: "Yes I agree. Aug 2 ill be back to work!! Time to clear the mind & focus on me & myself & I. We got a frenchy's ass to kick."
Koscheck is expected to meet St-Pierre, a Montreal native who is the UFC welterweight champion, in December. The two are soon to be featured on TV as rival coaches on Season 12 of "The Ultimate Fighter."
St-Pierre, who has a fleur-de-lis tattooed on his calf, has not responded well to past opponents like Matt Hughes and Matt Serra who have tried to trash-talk his heritage.
Serra, upset at comments by St-Pierre after his UFC 69 title loss to Serra, told a radio show: "Drink your red wine, go to your hockey game and shut up," while referring to the Montrealer as "Frenchy."
GSP complained prior to UFC 65 that Hughes told a Los Angeles station that the French have no heart.
St-Pierre went on to beat both men for the title.
Koscheck relishes his role as UFC villain, often choosing his words to make maximum input. He wears the organization's black hat well.
The reality TV show's cast was revealed Tuesday, with 26 American and two European lightweights vying for glory -- and a contract to fight in the UFC.
The new season, which has already wrapping up filming in Las Vegas, debuts Sept. 15 on Spike TV and will run 12 weeks. The two finalists will meet after that in a televised live finale with the coaches slated to meet in a December pay-per-view card.
St-Pierre, the reigning UFC welterweight champion from Montreal, beat Koscheck the first time they met at UFC 74 in August 2007.
Only 14 members of the list released Tuesday make the final cast. The 28-man roster is halved via fights the first two weeks of the show.
