After playing Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre last month, Metric will stage a free concert Wednesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at Toronto's Union Station.
Although a few tweets earlier yesterday from Samsung Mobile Canada (who are associated with the event) gave subtle hints that Metric was the "surprise" act, Metric officially confirmed it late Tuesday evening through their official website (www.ilovemetric.com). The band – who performed in Montreal this past weekend as part of the Osheaga music festival -- will also play a similar free show in New York City on Thursday evening at the city's Prospect Park Bandshell.
Metric, who released their last studio album Fantasies in 2009, have a new song entitled Black Sheep appearing on the soundtrack to the upcoming film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World starring Michael Cera.
