The Toronto Blue Jays have added minor league first baseman Mike Jacobs from the New York Mets Friday for a player to be named later according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
The 30-year-old was hitting .260/.313/.478 with 15 homers in 339 at-bats for Triple-A Buffalo. He opened the season in the majors with the Mets, but he had just 24 at-bats before being sent down.
On Thursday the Jays traded first base prospect Brett Wallace to the Houston Astros for outfield prospect Anthony Gose.
