The Calgary Flames and defenseman Ian White avoided an arbitration hearing scheduled for Friday, with the sides agreeing on a one-year contract.
According to a report from the NHL Players' Association, the deal will see White make $2,999,995 this season.
White had 13 goals and 38 points last season, which he split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Flames. Calgary acquired him in the Jan. 31 trade that sent Dion Phaneuf to the Leafs.
In 27 games with the Flames, White had 4 goals and 12 points.
In 323 NHL games with the Leafs and Flames, White has 32 goals and 117 points.
