VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Canucks will retire former captain Markus Naslund's jersey as part of the NHL team's 40th anniversary this season.
The team announced at the Canucks' Summer Summit on Wednesday that Naslund's No. 19 will be raised on Dec. 11.
His number will join those of Canucks legends Trevor Linden and Stan Smyl atop the newly named Rogers Arena.
Naslund, a native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, played 11 seasons with the Canucks. He recorded 346 goals and 756 points with the club.
His best season was in 2002-03, when he had 48 goals and 56 assists for 104 points.
