NEW YORK - Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Johansson during NHL Game No. 1291 in Minnesota on Tuesday, April 11, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 19:10 of the third period. Pionk was assessed a major penalty for cross-checking.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
