{allcanada} Canadiens place Artturi Lehkonen in NHL's COVID-19 protocol, cancel practice

The Montreal Canadiens have added left winger Artturi Lehkonen to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list, the team announced Saturday.

Lehkonen, 26, has four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 31 games this season.

In addition, the Canadiens cancelled practice earlier on Saturday for precautionary reasons.

The team also announced that Joel Armia and Mathieu Perreault have been placed on IR and will be out until at least through the holiday break, which is scheduled to start Dec. 24.

The Canadiens said they will travel to New York on Monday morning rather than Sunday afternoon as originally planned, also as a precautionary measure.

The Canadiens will practice at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard at 10:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Montreal last played on Thursday at home against the Philadelphia Flyers with no fans in attendance after a request from Quebec Public Health.

The NHL postponed Saturday's game between the Boston Bruins and Canadiens at the Bell Centre. The Bruins are currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak with nine players in protocol, along with one staff member.

No make-up date has been established.
