{allcanada} Senators sign Clark Bishop to a one-year, two-way contract extension

The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Clark Bishop to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

The deal is worth US$800,000 at the NHL level and $200,000 in the American Hockey League for the 2021-22 season.

Bishop, 25, appeared in 13 games with the Senators in 2020-21, registering three assists and four penalty minutes.

The native of St. John's, N.L., had two goals, three assists and six penalty minutes entering the Belleville Senators' AHL season finale against the Toronto Marlies on Thursday.

Bishop was selected by Carolina in the fifth round, 127th overall, of the 2014 NHL draft.

Ottawa acquired Bishop from the Hurricanes on Jan. 12 in exchange for defenceman Max Lajoie.

"Clark proved to be a versatile player for us this past season," Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said in a statement. "He possesses good speed, has a great work ethic and showcases a continuous willingness to play in hard areas. We're pleased to reach agreement with him."
