{allcanada} Senators sign defenceman Cody Goloubef to one-year, two-way contract

 

The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Cody Goloubef to a one-year, two-way prorated contract for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

Goloubef will have a cap hit of $700,000 in the NHL and $150,000 in the AHL. The 31-year-old joined the AHL's Belleville Senators on a professional tryout agreement recording four points in 19 games.

The Mississauga, Ont., was originally selected in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 160 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, Senators and the Detroit Red Wings, he has recorded 25 points and 76 penalty minutes.

Goloubef also represented Team Canada the 2018 Winter Olympic Games helping the team earn a bronze medal.
