{allcanada} Maple Leafs acquiring defenceman Ben Hutton from Ducks

The Toronto Maple Leafs are acquiring defenceman Ben Hutton from the Anaheim Ducks, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Per Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, the Ducks will receive a fifth-round pick in return.

The 27-year-old, who spent four seasons with the Vancouver Canucks before one year in Los Angeles and this season with the Ducks, has five points through 34 games while averaging 18:31 minutes per night.

Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has been one of the busiest GMs in the league in the days and hours leading up to Monday's 3 p.m. ET deadline. Over the past few days, Dubas has acquired forward depth in Riley Nash (who is currently injured, but expected to return for the playoffs), one of the best forwards on the trade market in former Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno, goalie insurance in David Rittich, and now defensive depth in Hutton.
