{allcanada} Pearson out at least four weeks for Canucks with lower-body injury

Tanner Pearson will be out at least four weeks for the Vancouver Canucks with a lower-body injury.

The forward played three shifts in the third period, the last at 6:49, and did not play in overtime when the Canucks defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 in a shootout Wednesday.

"It's unfortunate, for sure," Canucks coach Travis Green said. "but we're going to worry about the things we can control in our room. Whenever someone gets hurt, it's an opportunity for someone else and that's not going to change now."

Pearson has scored 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 33 games this season. He scored an NHL career-high 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists) in 69 games last season.

The 28-year-old is in the final season of a four-year, $15 million contract ($3.75 million average annual value) he signed with the Los Angeles Kings on May 9, 2017.

Green said forwards Jimmy Vesey and Antoine Roussel each will be in the lineup when the Canucks visit the Montreal Canadiens on Friday (7 p.m. ET; ESPN+, TSN2, RDS, SNP, NHL.TV). Vesey will make his debut with the Canucks after being claimed off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday; Roussel was out the past three games with an undisclosed injury.
